We currently use the hydrotherapy pool at Woodlawn School, in Monkseaton. The temperature of this pool is usually 32-33 degrees compared to 28-29 degrees in a public pool. The raised temperature makes it an ideal teaching environment for children ensuring they keep warm improving their concentration levels.

The pool is also graduated in depth which enables smaller children to gain confidence before moving into deeper water. There is a seating area poolside for parents to observe the lessons.

There are two changing areas and each has a toilet, shower facilities and access to a hairdryer. The hydrotherapy pool is situated to the rear of the school and there is free parking available.

We also currently use the hydrotherapy pool at Beacon Hill School in Wallsend. This is a new purpose built school that was opened in January 2008.

The hydrotherapy pool has steps to enter the pool and is graduated in depth. This accommodates those children learning to swim as it allows them to develop water confidence whilst having the security of being able to put their feet down.

The pool has a raised temperature of approximately 34 degrees. It has two changing rooms, each with shower facilities and toilets.

There is free parking available to the front of the school and access to the pool is through the school building. There is a seating area poolside for parents to observe the lessons.
